■研究の概要
よこ編みスペーサーファブリックは、ベースとなる２層の間によこ糸を挿入して編み上げる3層構造（3D）の編み布です。この独自な構造により、衝撃に対するエネルギー吸収が高く、緩衝材としても使用できます。また現在は、靴、ブラジャー、マットレス、カーシート、創傷包帯、医療用パッドなど多様な用途に展開されています。したがって、用途によって要求される性能も異なります。本研究では、多様な用途展開を可能にする新しい技術を布の性能評価とあわせて探究しています。たとえば、糸を横編みスペーサファブリックの編成に挿入するインレイ技術があります。インレイの糸の種類や編み密度を様々に変えることで、新規な横編みスペーサーファブリックの作製が可能となります。これは、スペーサーファブリックの新しい応用に役立つ可能性を持っています。
Spacer fabric is a three-dimensional (3D) knitted fabric composed of two outer fabric layers that are connected by a layer of spacer yarns. The unique structure of spacer fabric facilitates good energy absorption so that this type of fabric can be used as a cushioning material. It is commonly applied as shoes, bras, mattress, car seats, wound dressings and medical padding. To suit different end uses, different thickness and fabric properties are needed. This study aims find new methods to change the properties of traditional 3D spacer fabrics. Inlaid knitting technique is integrated into the knitting of weft knitted spacer fabric to apply additional yarns or materials into the structure so as to change the fabric properties. The outcomes could help to widen the scope of the applications of spacer fabric for different end-uses.
